Direct train Malmö–Gothenburg–Oslo
Travel with Snälltåget between Malmö, the Swedish west coast, Gothenburg and Oslo. The daytime train runs via destinations including Lund, Helsingborg, Halmstad and Varberg before continuing to Gothenburg and onwards to Norway.
The route is a convenient option whether you are travelling to the west coast for a city break or holiday, visiting Gothenburg, or continuing all the way to Oslo. On board, you can relax, enjoy the scenery or have a meal in our restaurant carriage Krogen.
Food, drinks and breakfast on board
Our restaurant carriage Krogen travels with you along the entire route between Malmö, Gothenburg and Oslo. Here you can enjoy hot meals, drinks and lighter refreshments during the journey.
To secure a table, we recommend booking in advance. Table reservations and meals can be added via My Journey.
If you only want something small, Krogen also offers coffee, tea, soft drinks, water, sandwiches, pastries and sweets to take back to your seat.
Breakfast on board: You can pre-order a breakfast with a double cheese roll, cinnamon bun, juice and a hot drink for SEK 99. Vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free options are also available. Breakfast costs SEK 109 when purchased on board and is subject to availability.
Departures in 2026
Snälltåget operates daily departures between Malmö, Gothenburg and Oslo from 15 June 2026. The trains normally also call at Lund, Helsingborg, Halmstad, Varberg, Trollhättan, Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad.
